From the mid 1990’s onward, after experiencing ten years of civil war, Uganda has managed to accomplish and maintain a fair socio-economic stability, backed up by structural reforms that focus on private sector consolidation. However, slow progress as regards access to health and education services, growing inequalities and a fragile economy make
Uganda a country classified as a “low income country”, that should invest on education, fight to corruption and an accurate macro-economic management of oil sector. The country should also tackle a huge amount of refugees from South Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Fondazione Edu has started its intervention in Uganda in 2010. Since then, it has provided financial help to 42 students, mostly in the field of engineering and economics.
