International Conference on “Tertiary education as a key-factor for development in Africa”

The conference, promoted by Fondazione Edu and ISPI – Istituto di Studi Politici Internazionali, analysis the relationship between higher eduacation and development in Sub-Saharan Africa. By taking into account both direct benefices and positive externalities, the conference would like to identify the factors that rise the efficiency of international support to tertiary education.
During the conference, experiences of European foundations/organizations and African Universities on cooperation in this field will be presented, with a special focus on programs sustaining scientific research.
A preliminary analysis of the Conference topics can be read in the Working Paper “Supporting higher education, enhancing economic development: strategies of effective founding in Sub-Saharan Africa”, presented during the Conference.
Among the speakers, Lalla Aïcha BEN BARKA, Vice General Director, Department Africa UNESCO, will be present.
